What to Expect from your Baby Photo Shoot

Newborn Photography
0 – 3 Weeks
The first twenty-one days (or so) of your little one’s life are so precious. Your life has just been turned upside down – you are tired and sore but all of this falls into insignificance as you find yourself totally in love with your newborn baby!
I have found this to be the ideal age to photograph your baby if you would like the classic ‘Newborn’ portraits. The images everyone is after are the ones where your baby still has their newborn curl and is sleeping soundly.
Main focus of your Newborn photoshoot is for me to capture:
· Individual portraits of your baby (sleeping as well as awake ones)
· Family shots including siblings
· Mum and baby portraits
· Dad and baby portraits
If you are looking for an experienced newborn photographer whose style is very natural then you have come to the right place.
Sessions can take place at my studio or in the comfort of your home.
Take note: Newborn photography sessions are the longest of all studio photo shoots. As we are capturing many different poses and your little one is handled a lot, it’s imperative we ensure your baby gets lots of breaks to relax in between shooting.

Baby Photography Past the Newborn Stage
30 Days Old Milestone
Your precious bundle is growing at a rapid rate and they are beginning to fill out by now. At this age, your baby will be more awake and more interested in their surroundings. Their eyes are now much clearer and they will be able to focus for short periods of time. Great for those shots where your baby is looking straight at my camera.
Your baby is more likely to stay awake for most of their session although if we are lucky, we might get a small window of opportunity to even capture a sleeping pose or two. I am ever the optimist!
Thirty-day milestone as well as one hundred-day sessions are particularly popular with families from Asian cultures.

100 Days Old Milestone
100th day after a child's birth is a significant milestone and is very popular with families from Asian countries. It is such a lovely age to capture. Smiles are much more frequent and your little one is becoming more inquisitive by the day. They will really be starting to develop their little personality, and this is a great time to capture cheeky expressions. They should be able to grab their feet and put them in their mouth (my favourite shot).
You may even get a few giggles!
This stage is great for getting:
Baby over dad’s shoulder’s shot
Intimate mum and baby portraits
Tummy-time pose
A smiling shot
What to wear:
Some families like to dress their babies in a cute outfit for the photo session at this age. I would recommend clothes that stretch, fit snugly and are comfortable for your baby. As lovely as shirts, dresses or dungarees look on a hanger, they never sit quite right when your baby is lying down or is held in your arms. The clothing tends to scrunch up which leaves up us having to concentrate on it too much instead of having fun.
Top tips:
Lay all your clothing out on the bad to ensure it all matches and each outfit compliments each other
Try out your baby’s outfit before the session to ensure it fits snugly

Almost a Toddler!
6 – 8 Months
Fun, giggles and laughter in a fast paced session.
At this age your little one is likely to be sitting unaided for short periods of time and very likely to begin to crawl,
This is a wonderful age to capture, smiles and giggles. Babies tend to be relatively content at this age as long as they’re well rested and fed, the sessions are fast paced and lots of fun.
Allow around an hour for a toddler photography session at my studio.
